Payment Conditions

Reservations are guaranteed by payment of 30% of the total amount by the payment method chosen, until 15 days before the check-in. The reservation is confirmed upon receipt of proof of payment of these 30% by email to geral@h18azores.com.

Non-payment of this amount will lead to the automatic cancellation of the reservation.

The remaining amount of the reservation will be charged in cash, credit card or debit card at the time of check-in.

Cancellation Policy

The booking cancellation conditions depend on the advance of the respective communication:

– If it is up to 15 days before the check-in date, the amount paid for the booking is fully refunded;
– If it is during the 14 days prior to check-in, 30% of the total value of the booking will be charged.

In the event of the Customer not appearing on the booking day it is considered a no-show, being charged the value of the first night.

The already accommodated customer may interrupt his stay without any right to reimbursement.

Terms and Conditions

I. Scope of Application
The terms and conditions comprised in this document are applied to the relationship between the potential guest, hereinafter referred to as Customer, and H18, from the moment of the booking request until the end of the period of stay.
In the situations which are not foreseen in the Terms and Conditions the applicable legislation is used.

 

II. Booking Policy
Bookings can be made by telephone, e-mail, through our website and Facebook and from the booking engine Booking.com. Bookings by telephone, e-mail, website and Facebook are subject to availability.
If there is room availability after the booking request, H18 provides a booking code.
Bookings made through tour operators, traveling agencies and booking engines result in the issuance of a booking code different from the one directly issued by H18. However, this code is equally valid.
H18 only guarantees to the Customer the provision of a room of the booked typology.

 

III. Arrival and Departure
H18 provides the room of the booked category starting at 3 pm on the scheduled arrival date. In case of an accommodation request in the reception without a booking, it is subject to availability at the time.
At check-in the guest must identify himself and provide the receptionist his identification document (ID card/passport).
On the departure date, the Customer must leave the room vacant of any people and belongings and without any damages until 12 am.
Check-in and check-out may occur outside of the specified time provided that the availability of the collaborators of H18 is verified.
If the room is not vacated by 12 am of the departure day, without any justification or prior consent from H18, a compensation corresponding to the value of one night will be immediately charged. The right to occupy the room during that period depends on room availability. Otherwise, the costumer will have to pay the compensation and leave the room as soon as possible.
H18 does not have a permanent reception service. Guests are kindly requested to inform us of their time of arrival.
Upon check-in the Customer will be given a key-ring with three keys: one of the main door of the building, one of the booked room and one of the locker in the kitchen. If any key is lost it should be immediately reported to the reception and the value of the key will be charged. The keys must be returned upon check-out.

 

IV. Terms of Use
Only the persons identified in the accommodation booking have the right to use the room. The temporary stay of guest’s visits is only allowed with previous consent from the management of H18.
The Customer and his guest(s), if applicable, must use the room in the proper conditions, with care and consideration.
The Customer and his guest(s), if applicable, must treat the other guests of the guest house with consideration and respect the Regulation available on each room.
H18 provides a common kitchen, living room and patio to their guests.
The common areas and the equipment available to the guests must be used properly and left clean and in a good condition.
Every damage, malfunction and theft associated with the Customer will be charged according to the value of the damages at stake.
Children under 14 years old must be supervised by an adult guest at all times during their stay in the guest house.
H18 will not be responsible for any personal property that may disappear from within its facilities.
The Customer must always close the access doors to the building and the room door and make sure that these are properly closed.
In case of an emergency, the Customer must call the contacts available at the reception and in the regulations in his room for this purpose.

 

V. Parking
H18 does not have private parking. However, there is free public parking in its surroundings.

 

VI. Animals
It is strictly forbidden to lodge animals in H18.
The introduction of animals by the guest in the guest house allows H18 to inform the Customer of the obligation to leave, and the values paid in the meantime for the room in the booked period of stay will not be reimbursed.

 

VII. Noise
Due to a matter of respect and understanding towards all the guests, it is asked a special attention not to make any noise in the common areas, stairs and corridors.
Any activities that cause noise susceptible of disturbing the other guests are not allowed between 23 pm and 7 am, according to General Noise Regulation.

 

VIII. Room access by H18
The H18 team will have the right to enter the room, during the stay of the Customer, in order to carry out cleaning service, repairs and suchlike.

 

IX. Price of stay and other prices
The price of stay to be paid by the Customer constitutes the right to use the room of the guest house, in the period between arrival and departure.
The total price of stay will be charged per night, regardless of whether the Customer actually used the room or not.
The applicable tariffs will be the prices agreed-upon or the prices established in the price list of H18 in effect on the booking request date. H18 will have the right to update the prices provided that the Customer is informed in a timely manner.
The rates and the amounts indicated referring to the stay are all increased of VAT at the legal rate in force, unless expressly provided otherwise.
Children up to 5 years old stay for free. From 6 to 12 years old they have a 50% discount on the extra bed.
H18 provides on its website information and the promotions that are being offered.
The offers and promotions are temporary and are subject to the defined specific conditions.
Terms of payment specific to traveling agencies, tour operators and other entities may be applied.

 

X. Payment conditions
The payment of the value of stay and additional services must be done at check-in.
If the duration of the Customer’s stay is not specified, the price of stay and additional services for each night must be paid at 12 am, time of check-out.
H18 accepts payments in cash, card, paypal or bank transfer. We accept debit and credit cards.
Cheques are not accepted.
Terms of payment specific to traveling agencies, tour operators and other entities may be applied.

 

XI. Complaints
A complaints book is available at the reception.
Any complaints or suggestions should be referred to the management.
If there is effectively a defect in the Customer’s room, H18 has the right to opt for the repair and relocate the guest to a room of the same category as booked. The only defects that will be considered are the ones that could call into question the level of service and quality of H18.

 

XII. Responsability of H18
H18 will be responsible for ensuring proper conditions of hygiene, cleanliness and safety of the guest house.
H18 will not be responsible for any personal items that may disappear from within its facilities.
H18 does not take any responsibility for the loss of data provided by the Customer in case of electronic transmission of payment data, being only responsible if there was a wrongful action.
H18 will not be responsible to the Customer in the event of a delay in room availability if there is a reason of force majeure. It will be considered force majeure the reasons that make it impossible or more difficult to have the room available, such as strikes, blocks, natural disasters, accidents in the room or in the guest house.

 

XIII. Notification Requirement
In the event of theft, property damage, fire, flooding, or any other damage to the room of the guest house, the Customer must immediately inform the team of H18 and do everything to help resolve the situation.

 

XIV. Termination of Stay
H18 reserves the right to terminate the stay if the Customer does not pay the due value, as well as if the Customer presents any behaviour that affects the good coexistence, quietness or hygiene.
The Customer may request the termination of his stay at any time until 7:30 pm, to take effect from 12 am on the next day.

 

XV. Data Protection
The Customer’s personal data and those accompanying, if applicable, will be stored and processed by H18 and service providers, in accordance with the Law, for the services requested by the Customer and for advertising campaigns.
The Customer has the right to oppose at any moment to the use of personal data for advertising purposes by informing H18.
Unless there is contrary legislation, the Customer’s personal data must be excluded when the legal retention period is over.

 

XVI. General Provisions
The Terms and Conditions regulate the stay of the Customer at H18 and his utilization of the room.
The nullity of one or more of the aforementioned regulations does not impair the validity of the remaining regulations. The nullified regulation will be replaced by a valid one being the closest to the commercial and legal intentions from the parts or, in case that it is not possible, by the Portuguese legislation in force.
